My heart has been longing to return to the cool shade of the forest this week – not surprising, considering the heat wave we\’re enduring. The hike on Mt. Pisgah in North Carolina, where this photo was taken, was undertaken on a drizzly, foggy day in October. The six mile out and back trek provided for amazing views, not from the top of the mountain, but rather in reflecting on the beauty in the small things, the things that become brilliant when everything else is shrouded in mist.
