Photo Phriday: A Pawfect Model

\"\"

This is Copper. He\’s a rescue hound; probably beagle, maybe harrier. He likes chasing woodland critters and soaking up the sun – no matter the temperature. Seriously, some days this dog does not want to come inside. He\’s not too loud – despite what people assume with his beagle appearance. How he ended up at the animal shelter, we have no idea. He was house trained, well-mannered (though he loves to jump up for kisses), and so, so sweet. Seriously, he seems to think he was put on this earth to make humans smile (and squirrels die). Regardless of why, we\’re just glad to be his humans, and spoil him with occasional trips to Dairy Kastle.

When my 50mm lens arrived, I couldn\’t wait for a human to get home and let me try it out, so Copper was my first model. I\’ve really enjoyed shooting with a prime lens and learning what can be done with it. Also, this quick click turned out to be a great portrait of the canine family member.

Did you know I do headshots and personality/branding photography? Take a look around my Photographer page for details. On August 17th, I\’m holding a Quickshots day. These are 15-minute time slots to get one great shot – perfect for teen actors whose look changes rapidly, for actors needing an extra look in their portfolio, or for anyone who needs an updated profile pic. (You aren\’t using a selfie, are you?!) We\’ll shoot one look for 15 minutes, and within 48 hours, I will email you all JPGs. You can sign up right from the Photographer page, or give me a shout with any questions.
