It’s the week before an audition and you still have no monologue.
Yikes! Time to panic!
Well, maybe not.
While it is never an ideal scenario, it sometimes happens. Maybe you’ve only just learned about the audition, maybe you’ve put off preparing for it – but whatever the reason, I see a lot of my high school acting students scrambling for help to find and prepare a monologue at the last minute.
First, I recommend avoiding a last minute monologue at all costs. But if you do find yourself in this situation, this month I’ll be talking about how to prep a monologue at the last minute.
One way to avoid this situation is to study your acting skills the same way you study your music and dance skills: continue lessons even when there is not an audition on the horizon. In February, I’ll begin offering a small group class, Acting as a Craft, for that very reason. It’s a great way for you to keep your acting skills sharp, even when you don’t have an audition in your immediate future. Each session is four weeks and the group is small, so slots are extremely limited. Click here to sign up today to continue honing your acting craft for stage and screen.
